Bus Pass Program
Our flagship reentry transportation initiative offers bus passes to individuals released from jail or prison within the past 12 months. Reliable transportation enables access to job interviews, parole check-ins, medical appointments, and recovery services. We are working to establish partnerships and develop future programs to provide additional support. Our goal is to offer comprehensive reentry services that meet the evolving needs of individuals impacted by the justice system.Discover our volunteer opportunities to support individuals who have been formerly incarcerated.
How It Works
Once referred, each individual undergoes a thorough review process to confirm their parole status, employment situation, and current mobility challenges. Parole officers help verify if the person needs transportation to maintain a job or access opportunities to find one. Eligible recipients are invited to a one-on-one meeting at our central downtown location. During this meeting, recipients will present identification and complete a short form, which includes a photo release, to enroll officially. Most bus passes are distributed during this meeting.
Types of Support
Depending on each situation, a person may receive:

-
Weekly Bus Pass ($25): For those with short-term transportation needs, such as getting to a new job.
-
Monthly Bus Pass ($100): For those actively seeking work or rebuilding stability over time.
-
State Driver's License or Identification Card fee.

To make the most significant impact, the program is currently limited to one-time support per person.
