Our Goal

To remove barriers for individuals returning from incarceration,  helping them move forward through access to transportation, community support, and pathways to lasting independence.

At GLO Phoenix, our work is more than a program—it’s a promise to see people fully and support their journey toward stability, independence, and a sense of belonging. We care deeply about the human experiences behind every statistic and story, and we shape our work around the needs that matter most to those we serve.

  • Access to Transportation: Mobility is more than movement; it’s freedom. We believe transportation should never be a barrier to opportunity. Through our Bus Pass Distribution Program and future initiatives, we help individuals access employment, healthcare, and community connections.

  • Successful Reentry: Every person deserves a fair chance to start again. We’re committed to supporting justice-impacted individuals as they transition home, bridging the gap between release and reintegration through dignity-centered support and strategic partnerships.

  • Family & Community Stability: Families are at the heart of thriving communities. We invest in programs that strengthen family connections, provide stability for single parents, and reduce the cycles of generational hardship.

  • Mental Health & Healing: Healing is essential to rebuilding. We aim to expand access to emotional and mental wellness resources, creating spaces for self-worth, reflection, and growth alongside practical support.

  • Equitable Opportunity: True transformation happens when systems evolve. We advocate for equitable access to resources, services, and second chances, ensuring that no one is left behind because of their history or circumstances.

Mission

To empower individuals impacted by incarceration, poverty, and social inequities through access to transportation, resources, and compassionate support, helping them rebuild their lives with dignity, purpose, and opportunity.

Vision

A just and thriving community where every person, regardless of their past or present circumstances, has equitable access to the resources and relationships needed to rise, rebuild, and succeed.

Our Guiding Principles

Our work is grounded in values that shape every partnership, program, and interaction.

Compassion: We meet people where they are with empathy, patience, and respect.

Equity & Inclusion: We actively dismantle barriers and ensure that all individuals have equal access to opportunity.

Dignity: Every person deserves to be seen, heard, and valued as a whole human being.

Integrity: We operate with transparency, accountability, and honesty in all we do.

Collaboration: We believe lasting change happens through collective effort—when communities, partners, and individuals rise together.

Empowerment: We don’t just offer assistance; we help people build the confidence, skills, and networks to sustain long-term growth.

Who We Serve

GLO Phoenix serves individuals and families in the Pittsburgh region who are rebuilding their lives after incarceration, recovering from substance use, or facing economic hardship. Many of those we support are returning citizens and individuals navigating barriers to employment, housing, and stability.

We meet people where they are, offering immediate assistance through transportation access and connecting them to trusted partners who can support their long-term growth. Our approach centers compassion, dignity, and equity, ensuring that every person we serve has the opportunity to move forward and thrive.

Our Four Strategic Priorities

2025-2028

Over the next three years, GLO Phoenix will focus on four core strategies designed to strengthen our foundation, expand our reach, and deepen our impact. These priorities reflect both the urgent needs of our community and our long-term vision for sustainable growth.

Looking Ahead: Rising Together

At GLO Phoenix, we believe transformation begins with access, continues with compassion, and flourishes through community. The next three years mark a crucial period of growth—one where we expand our reach, deepen our relationships, and strengthen the systems that sustain meaningful change.

We know that reentry, recovery, and rebuilding are not linear journeys. They require patience, trust, and consistent support. That’s why every partnership we build, every bus pass we provide, and every hand we extend is grounded in one belief: that every person deserves the chance to rise again.

Our commitment is unwavering—to continue showing up, listening, and building pathways to dignity and independence. Together with our community partners, donors, and volunteers, we are creating a model of hope that moves people forward one step, one mile, one story at a time.

Because when one person rises, we all rise.
